Our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon-Manjit Brar, MD, FRCS(C) Dr. Brar has been doing plastic surgery for over 42 years; in fact, he is the longest practicing plastic surgeon in the Portland-Vancouver area and Southwest Washington. Dr. Brar is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (the Canadian equivalent to American Board certification.) so he essentially has three board certifications. Board certification is a process through which a plastic surgeon voluntarily demonstrates his or her exceptional level of training and understanding of all types of plastic surgery. This includes comprehensive written and oral exams as well as presentation of a variety of patients. Those who undergo this rigorous process must meet stringent criteria.
Dr. Brar did 10 years of training after medical school. His plastic surgery training was at the world-famous McGill University in Montreal, Canada. His office is at 3100 Main Street in Vancouver, Washington, where he has a surgical suite to perform outpatient surgery.
Outside of the office, Dr. Brar’s passions are diet and exercise. He jogs or walks four to seven miles a day. He recently hiked Mt. St Helens and the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is a challenging 10 mile hike each way with a one mile change in elevation. It is not for the faint of heart!
