Tummy Tuck Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty surgery is done to tighten loose skin and flatten a bulging abdomen that can result from pregnancy or weight loss. Quite often we can do the surgery under twilight sleep anesthesia to minimize the risk of complications.
Depending on the patient, tummy tuck surgery may involve liposuction, tightening of the abdominal wall muscles, removal of the loose skin and relocation of the navel. The purpose of abdominoplasty is to produce a more youthful contour with narrowing of the waistline. The main scar is usually hidden in the bikini area and fades with time. Tummy tuck surgery is an outpatient procedure. Dr. Brar only performs this surgery on patients who are at or near their normal weight; it is not a substitute for weight reduction through diet and exercise.
